Tailscale Installation Methods

Install on Multiple Devices and OSs

You will be happy to know that Tailscale is ... er ... ridiculously easy to install. I mean like, press a button, sign a thing, and you're done. In most cases, it is that easy.

I'll walk through the various methods of installing Tailscale on different devices and operating systems here and work our way into some more advanced topics, like setting up a subnet router and setting up a Tailscale server and using Tailscale in the cloud.

Installation Methods

iOS and Android

  1. The first thing you will want to do is install the Tailscale app on your phone. This is the easiest way to get started with Tailscale. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

  2. Guess what, you're done. That's it. You can now connect to your Tailscale (called a Tailnet in Tailscale parlance) network from your phone. If this is your first device, you'll need to add one or more devices to begin exploring the real Tailscale magic.

Windows

  1. To install Tailscale on Windows, you will need to download the installer from the Tailscale website.
