Welcome Here 🎉

"Welcome where?", you ask? Well, you're here of course. My dedicated documents, guides, tutorials and blog page. I struggled for a long time to find a place that would tick all the boxes for me. I wanted a place where I could write about my projects, share my knowledge and experiences, and also have a place to document my projects. This section of my website is written using the wonderful Docusaurus static site generator which allows me to create and organize:

  • Web Development Project Documentation and descriptions

  • Lab Notes - for my Home Lab experiments, acting as a wiki to keep track of ... "what they heck did I do to make that work again?"

  • Tutorials - for those things I've learned and want to share with others

  • Blog Posts - for those things that don't fit into the above categories

  • Code Snippets and ...

    • /src/components/HelloCodeTitle.js
      const description = 'Code blocks with syntax highlighting!!';
      console.log(greeting);
    • Bash Code Block
      which will come in handy for my technical writing
      especially when I'm writing about my web development projects

Writing as Study

While this document and the subsequent document structure is bound to grow, one of the main goals I set out with is to write to learn and to learn to write. Example, the first project that I'll document here is my Active Directory Lab. Credit to the Lab structure is not mine, but the process of writing it down, sharing it, will have a threefold purpose:

  • Cement it in my mind as I practice and implement the concepts
  • Hone my technical writing skills - I've long wanted to combine my love of writing with my love of technology
  • Teach others - I love free knowledge. I love learning and love helping other learn. I often find that I slip into "mentor" mode when I'm learning something new. I want to share that with others.
